Basesoft Open Systems is leading in applying service orientation, object technology, database technology, IT-security and open systems architectures in High Integrity Information Systems development, primarily in the area of larger enterprise systems and engineering applications. Basesoft is a privately owned Swedish company, founded in 1985. In June 1993, Basesoft acquired the product and intellectual rights to the Base/OPEN framework. The Base/OPEN framework was developed in two programs, NMP4 and IT4 during the time period 1986-1993. The main sponsors were Telia (former Swedish Telecom), Ericsson and The Swedish Defence Administration (FMV). Telelogic (former Telia subsidiary) and Objectory (former Ericsson subsidiary, later acquired by Rational Software and IBM) carried out product and marketing activities during this period. Basesoft
is a financially stable company, and has earned Dun & Bradstreet AAA
rating since several years back. Basesoft also has been awarded the highest possible rating in UC AB Credit Rating. Basesoft is located slightly west of the Stockholm down-town city at Marieberg, Kungsholmen. The visiting address is: Rålambsvägen 17, 17th floor (see the map at the left above). This is in the architecturally well-known "DN/Expressen" building (the picture to the right above). If you travel with public transportation you may take any of the city bus lines: 1, 4, 40, 62, 72 to station: Västerbroplan. If you prefer the subway (Swedish: Tunnelbana) you may go to the station: Thorildsplan, and take a 5 minutes walk though the park.
